Conflict and Ceasefire with India-Pakistan
• Operation Sindoor: In retaliation for a lethal terror attack Pahalgam, India undertook precision strikes in Pakistan and PoK, destroying nine targeted terrorist camps, as part of Operation Sindoor in April 2025.
• Ceasefire status: A ceasefire was facilitated by the U.S. on 10 May although the garbled ceasefire did not last long before both countries resumed border shelling again on 11 May. Both countries interpreted the ceasefire climate as violations of the negotiation process and blamed each other.
• National and International response: U.S. President Donald Trump indicated that both countries may expand trade (exchanging arms) with any quarrel avoiding, and India indicated it would never accept any third-party negotiating mediating any dispute on Kashmir.
National Technology Day
• Indian significance of Technology Day: Celebrated on 11 May that relates to significantly acknowledged technology developments in India, particularly, as 11 May marked a, anniversary of India succeeding in nuclear tests with the tests conducted under the codename, Pokhran-II conducted in 1998.
• Other events that mark Technology Day: The maiden flight of the Hansa-3 indigenously designed aircraft and a successful test of the Trishul missile.
